SIEMENS Acoustic Sensors

Siemens devices for process protection, including non-contacting acoustic sensors for pump monitoring (SITRANS DA) and solid flow detection (SITRANS AS100). These sensors seem to offer robust construction, insensitivity to environmental factors, and the ability to detect subtle changes in various systems.

SITRANS DA400 acoustic diagnostic unit. This device seems to have versions for both pump monitoring and material flow monitoring, each with specific applications for measuring structure-borne noise. The unit includes an electric diagnostic component and can accommodate up to four acoustic sensors.

More details

The SITRANS AS100 is designed to detect changes in high-frequency sound waves from moving equipment and materials, providing instant reactions to variations in solids flow. It serves to alert operators of blockages, product absence, or equipment failures, allowing for timely preventive action and cost avoidance. This system commonly applies to pellets, powders, and bulk solids in various setups such as pipes, chutes, vibratory feeders, pneumatic conveyors, or aerated gravity flow systems.

When paired with a SITRANS CU02 control unit, the AS100 can identify high flow, low flow, or no flow conditions and can be integrated into a control loop via a 4 to 20 mA output. It features two fully programmable independent relays to operate alarms or control devices. Additionally, with its non-invasive nature, lack of moving parts, and robust stainless steel enclosure, it requires minimal maintenance.
