Protex Process and Temperature Meter

Precision Digital manufactures a wide variety of explosion-proof indicators and controllers which can be powered via either loop or line power and carry all the major approvals, such as CSA, ATEX and IECEx. In addition, a select group of explosion proof products are now UL Listed as Explosion-Proof / Dust Ignition-Proof / Flame-Proof. These instruments will accept a wide range of inputs, such as 4-20 mA, strain gauge, pulse, thermocouple, RTD and Modbus and can be equipped with relays, 4-20 mA outputs and serial re-transmission. They all feature displays that can be easily read in various lighting conditions, from wide angles, and from considerable distances.

PD8-765 ProtEX-MAX Explosion-Proof Process and Temperature Meter

The ProtEX-MAX PD8-765 explosion-proof, large-display, process and temperature meter offers all the functionality of the PD765 Trident as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. The PD8-765's huge 1.2" (30.5 mm) sunlight readable display is visible from over 30 feet away. This explosion-proof indicator can be field programmed to accept process voltage (0-5 V, 1-5 V, etc.) and current (4-20 mA) inputs, 100 Ohm RTDs, and the four most common thermocouples.
 
There are two power options for the ProtEX-MAX: 85 to 265 VAC or 12-36 VDC and the AC powered version can provide 24 VDC to power the transmitter if needed. Programming and setup can be performed with the four CapTouch through-glass buttons, free MeterView software, or using the Copy function.
 
Two relays and isolated 4-20 mA output options increase the utility of the PD8-765. The relays can be used for alarm or control applications. The 4-20 mA output provides an isolated retransmission of the input signal; especially useful for temperature inputs like thermocouples and RTDs. Now you can have an explosion-proof temperature transmitter with a huge, bright display! It is housed in an explosionproof housing with convenient mounting flanges, available in aluminum or stainless steel.
 
The PD8-765 ProtEX-MAX display height is an astounding 1.2" (30.5 mm). It can be read easily from distances of up to 30 feet away! The display intensity function allows the selection of eight levels of intensity for various lighting conditions, including direct sunlight.

PD8-6000 ProtEX-MAX Explosion-Proof Process Meter

The ProtEX-MAX PD8-6000 explosion-proof process meter offers all the functionality of the ProVu PD6000 as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. It is available in an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and will operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to 65°C (-67 to 149°F). It accepts a process current (4-20 mA) or process voltage (0-5V, 1-5V, etc.) signal and displays it on a dual-line, 6-digit Sunbright sunlight readable display. The meter includes a 24 VDC power supply to drive the transmitter and can be equipped with four internal relays and a 4-20 mA output. The PD8-6000 can be programmed and operated without opening the housing by using the built-in CapTouch through-glass buttons or the RS-485 serial communication port with free Modbus protocol.

PD8-6060 ProtEX-MAX Explosion-Proof Dual Analog Input Process Meter

The ProtEX-MAX PD8-6060 process meter offers all the functionality of the ProVu PD6060 as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. It is available in an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and will operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to 65°C (-67 to 149°F). It accepts two inputs of either a process current (4-20 mA) or process voltage (0-5V, 1-5V, etc.) signal. It displays these signals on a dual-line, 6-digit Sunbright sunlight readable display. The meter can be customized such that these two inputs are displayed in a variety of ways, including both at the same time with tags or the result of math functions performed on one or both of the inputs. The PD8-6060 can be equipped with four internal relays and a 4-20 mA analog output. It can be programmed and operated without opening the housing by using the built-in CapTouch through-glass buttons or the RS-485 serial communication port with free Modbus protocol.

PD8-7000 ProtEX-MAX Explosion-Proof Temperature Meter

The ProtEX-MAX PD8-7000 offers all the functionality of the ProVu PD7000 as a CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certified explosion-proof product. It is available in an aluminum or stainless steel enclosure and will operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to 65°C (-67 to 149°F). It accepts a direct temperature input from a wide range of temperature measurement devices (type J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, and C thermocouples and 100 or 1000 Ω platinum, 10 Ω copper, 120 Ω nickel RTDs). It displays the measured temperature in either degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius on a dual-line, 6-digit Sunbright sunlight readable display. The meter includes automatic cold junction compensation for thermocouples and the ability to average up to ten (10) RTD sensors. The PD8-7000 can be equipped with four internal relays and a 4-20 mA analog output. It can be programmed and operated without opening the housing by using the built-in CapTouch through-glass buttons or the RS-485 serial communication port with free Modbus protocol.
