OMS-1 alarm device is specially designed for oil separators. It indicates when it is time to empty the oil separator, which prevents harmful hydrocarbon emissions from being released into to the sewer system.

OMS-1 is an alarm system designed to monitor the oil layer thickness in an oil separator. The system comprises the OMS-1 control unit, OMS sensor, and a cable joint.

The OMS sensor is installed inside the light liquid storage chamber and triggers an alarm when the oil layer reaches a preset level. Typically, the sensor is immersed in water, and its operation is based on measuring electrical conductivity—water conducts electricity much better than oil.

Since oil separators are considered potentially explosive (Ex) areas, the OMS-1 sensor can be installed in zone 0, 1, or 2, where flammable gases may be present. However, the control unit must be installed in a safe, non-hazardous area.

The idOil Solar is a solar-powered alarm and communication unit designed for monitoring liquid hydrocarbon, sludge, or high levels in oil and sand separators, especially in locations without mains power. It can be equipped with a beacon light and/or a 3G modem for remote communication.

Installation and User Guide

The device operates primarily in a low-power standby mode, awakening at scheduled intervals to perform sensor measurements and, if equipped with a 3G modem, to listen for commands and report data simultaneously. When an alarm condition occurs, idOil Solar can activate a flashing beacon, send SMS messages to pre-set phone numbers, or both. All alarms are also visible locally on the control unit during brief wake-up periods. The control unit shares features with the idOil-30 Battery control unit.
