Hazardous Area Flow Computers

Contrec offers a wide range of hazardous area flow computers for various ATEX flow applications in challenging environments. These flow computers are designed to be safe and reliable in areas where there is a risk of explosion due to flammable gases, vapors, or dusts.

The 515 PP01 application is tailored for measuring the flow of pressurized petroleum fluid in accordance with ASTM D1250-04 standards. The instrument's frequency flow inputs can handle a quadrature signal for ISO 6551 level B pulse security, ensuring reliable measurement. Additionally, it accommodates analog inputs for pressure, temperature, and/or density, enabling volume correction to reference conditions for precise measurements.

This application appears to be versatile, as it is compatible with a wide range of flowmeter frequency outputs, including various signals such as millivolt, reed switches, Namur proximity switches, and pulse trains, which can be selected using its smart front-panel program. The pressure input plays a crucial role in conducting more accurate volume correction calculations for different fluid groups such as Crude, Lube, Refined, Special, and General.

Moreover, for fluid groups like LPG, Gasohol, Ethanol, and User, where pressure input is not part of the calculations, it can still be utilized as a live reading for viewing and logging purposes, showcasing the flexibility of the instrument.
This application seems to offer comprehensive functionality for measuring petroleum fluid flow, catering to specific industry standards and diverse fluid types.
